- Immaculate Vitesse alloys and new tyres

Not one for someone after an original Series 1… The base car was an early skeleton badge series 1 3500 SD1 automatic with good history and around 52k at teh time of restoration. It was rebuilt around 20 years ago and upgraded at that time with a 4.6-litre V8 apparently destined for one of the Paris-Dakar Discovery racers, a manual Vitesse gearbox, modified suspension and XJS brakes.

Finished in its original, period correct, Atlantis Blue but now with a full blue Vanden Plas leather interior replacing the original mustard yellow cloth plus a matching blue 'Webasto' full-length sunroof. Original series 1 oval steering wheel, nice Bluetooth stereo, all round electric windows and working remote central locking. 4 Head rest pillows present and nice floor mats.

The engine spec includes; 4.6-litre Paris-Dakar block, cross bolted mains, crank, rods and pistons, modified Vitesse cylinder heads with ARP studs, RPI RP4 cam with duplex steel timing gear, Mocal oil cooler, four-barrel carb and manifold, Carter electronic uprated fuel pump, Mallory ignition with non-resistor plugs, Moroso leads, Rimmer exhaust with heat-wrapped tubular manifolds, 3-core radiator with thermo switch, electric fan, Vitesse transmission and a Helix Motorsport clutch. Hard to say what power its producing – its goes well and makes the right noises and its certainly north of 200bhp. Estimated to have travelled around 12,000 miles since rebuild.

Further upgrades include Jamex 60mm springs with adjustable dampers, poly-bushed all round, Jaguar XJS V12 front discs and callipers, aeroquip hoses and newly refurbished Vitesse 15" alloys shod with a brand new set of Kumho tyres.

The car has been magazine-featured in both Practical Classics March 2004 and Retro Cars Jan 2005 (copy in the file) around the time it was built.

63,993 miles now indicated – not warranted but thought to be accurate for the chassis, and an MOT until November 2025 (with no advisories) and recently serviced.

Supplied with a huge history file, lots of old tax discs including its first, the original 'Passport to Service' and a photo album from 2005 on disc

Driving really well and sounding great with age related marks in line with a 20 year old restoration. A real 'Wolf in Sheep's clothing'
