Super condition Citroen Relay with Ryders Winch and Recovery Stage 2 Beavertail body work (from new) plus a GT Race & Trailers Cover fitted in June 2023 costing £4686+vat. Electric winch (remote and wired) plus air suspension. Roof mounted strobe lights plus load and bed lights.

Initially privately owned for transport of a race car, the vehicle was subsequently owned by a light commercials dealer but the business owner kept the vehicle for his own use rather than it being used as the general works vehicle. Subsequently the cab has remaining in excellent, clean and un battered condition. We have owned the vehicle for around 2 years and had the cover fitted as it was to be used to transport high end classic cars in and out of Cornwall but we cannot justify keeping it.

As it was to be used by myself primarily for long trips (we are Cornwall based, so all trips are long) I have upgraded it to make it as civilised as possible, so includes;

- Air conditioning – blows cold

- Cruise control (third party Precision unit)

- Apple Carplay / Android Auto head unit with upgrade Alpine speakers

- Dash cam

- Tyre pressure sensors

- Reversing camera

- Quality phone mount and cup holder.

Last serviced at 74,000 miles which included a new airbox (the bolts were rounding off), and a new intercooler pipe (looked worse than it was). New battery May 2023.

Additional ‘Race Ramps’ included to assist with loading lower cars and it will run with the rear rolled up for longer vehicles.

Load capacity estimated to be approximately 1300-1400kg. Beavertails are all tight to the 3500kg limit but as I needed it for classic cars this was more than adequate. The Ryders body / Ducato chassis combination is known to be pretty light so I estimate the base truck was around 1800kg plus the frame and cover and winch. Weight could be saved by removing the winch, passenger seats, spare and light bar but with the air suspension and being covered it will cope with the majority of loads.

Bad points? Some stone chips on bonnet and there is a faint shadow where branding was applied at one time. The main chassis rails look tatty in the pictures but that is just a waxoil type rust treatment wearing thin – no rust anywhere.

Trade ins considered but classics/sports only and at trade prices. Also would consider a tri axle Brian James 3.5ton trailer but would have to be in excellent condition and later than say 2020. 

Finally, I know we are a long way from everyone so I’ll make sure it has a full tank!

Overall lovely truck that will be greatly missed as I hate using the trailer but I can’t justify running the additional vehicle.
